There can be several causes, here is some more information:

– Please click to allow your browser access to your cam. This question is shown near the top of your browser, when the videochat window has opened for the first time.
– Wait until the other person also allows access to their cam.
– Please wait 60 seconds, after an initial connection has been made, to give the browser time to succesfully create the link.
– The videochat function only works in the newest browsers. Firefox is the preferred browser to use, and you can upgrade to the latest version.
– In case you are using a VPN, please disable it and try again.

When the other person is disconnected, for instance by closing the videochat window, the cam view of that member freezes. So in your videochat window, you will see a freezed view of the other person’s cam. This does not mean the connection is slow, it means the other person has closed the screen.

Dares

One of the ways we made it easier for people to interact, is the Truth or Dare game. In this game you dare another person to do something, or show something. This person can accept, and dare you back. When you both accept, you have a deal. After you’ve both uploaded your picture, a selected number of other members will verify your pictures (blurred version, without your details), just to be sure that you both held up your part of the deal. After they are verified, you will both receive each other’s dare picture.

Many members start with simple dares. In this way one can build trust, and get to know the other person. If that works out well, more advanced assignments can follow. Please note that you have to make a unique photo for each dare, so you’re not allowed to upload the same photo for different dares. You have to make a new photo each time.

When you upload your dare photo, the photo will be reviewed. This review is done by members who match your gender and orientation. So if you are a woman, looking for men, then only men that are looking for women can review your photo. This photo they see is a blurred version, and your username is not shown, they do not know who uploaded the photo. In this way, your privacy is more protected, and the reviewers are still able to determine if you held up your part of the deal. You can choose not to have the photo blurred, so the reviewers see your real photo. You can choose this when uploading your dare photo.

For more general information on dares check this guide on How to Play Truth or Dare Online for Adults.

When you upload your dare photo, the photo will be reviewed. Only people who review it are able to see your dare photo. The review is done by members who match your gender and orientation. You can choose not to have the photo blurred, so the reviewers see your real photo. You can choose this when uploading your dare photo.

If your photo, and the other member’s photo are approved, you will both receive each other’s picture.

There are two ways to make sure that the other member has fulfilled their dare, and made a photo specifically for you.

First, his or her photo will be reviewed by other members. These other members will check to see if he or she has held up their part of the deal, and that the photo shows the dare.

Second, when filling in the dare, you can add something to make sure that this person is making this picture for you personally. You can ask for something specific to be shown, for instance: “Show an orange in the picture”, or “Hold a sign saying my name”.

You can go to his or her profile, and click on ‘Dare’ on the left side. You can fill in the dare, and the personalize request (optional, you can leave it empty if you want), and click on ‘Send Dare’.

To make sure that this person is making this picture for you personally, you can ask for something specific to be shown. For instance: “Show an orange in the picture”, or “Hold a sign saying my name”. In this way you are making this photo personal.

When you dare someone, or someone dares you, you will only receive each other’s photo, when you both uploaded it. So if you uploaded your photo, the other person will not receive it, until they upload their picture as well. If the other person decides to not go through with it anymore, and not upload their picture, that is possible. That means that the deal is off, and the other member will also not be able to see your dare photo.

Only people who review it are able to see your dare photo. The review is done by members who match your gender and orientation. There is a list based on dares done by members in the past, you can click here: Dare Examples.

If you do not want to do a dare anymore, that is okay. If you want, you can let the other person know by sending a message. You can try another dare, which suits you better, and you can let the other person know what would fit better for you.

It could be that your picture size is too large. There should me a message appearing if that is the case. You can resize your picture, and try again.

It could also be the case that you have an invalid file type. Try to convert your image to a .jpg file or a .jpeg file. There are many online tools to assist you with this.

You can stop messages from a member by blocking this person.

Search on ‘Keyword’ means that you can enter a word, and the search will look into usernames and profiles. When the word is found in the username or profile of a member, this member will be shown in the search results.

The search results only show profiles of other members, and not your own profile. However, you will show up in search results of other members, who can also access your profile.

‘Score’ stands for how active a member is on the site. If he or she has many friends, replies to messages, has photos, and has been active recently, he or she will have a higher score. If the member has rejected photos, does not reply to messages, is blocked by other members, his or her score will be lower. You are not able to see your own score, nor the score of the other members.

Emails

There are two types of messages that you can receive. The first type are inbox notification emails. These are emails which you receive when you have a new message in your Secret Dare inbox. The other type are dare review notification emails, which you receive when you are requested to do a dare review.

You can disable them both. You can go to ‘Home’ -> ‘Settings’ (or click here), unselect the checkboxes at ‘Send me email notifications when I receive messages while not being online’ and ‘Send me messages and email notifications with dare review requests’, and click ‘Save’.
